    When Jack's aristocratic mother discovers her illustrious son loves the maid, she orders Bertha from the house and threatens to disown Jack for life if he takes his place at Bertha's side. But just when you are certain that the unscrupulous villain is going to triumph, fate steps in ...

    Melodrama is a comedic theatrical play formulated in the Victorian times that features exaggerated characters- damsels in distress, villains, heroes- in sensational story-lines of intrigue and romance.Come cheer for the hero, boo and hiss at the villain and sigh for our heroine. This audience participation evening of comedy melodrama is suitable for the entire family.

    Saturday, Sept. 20th from 10:00 am-3:00 pm
    in the Gouverneur Village Park on Main Street
    The rain location is the St. James School on S. Gordon Street.
    This event benefits the Gouverneur Public Library.

    As of Aug. 28th, 25 artists and crafters plan to participate.
    We are still accepting applications.

  • 2nd Annual Gouverneur Riverside Cemetery Tour - 2 p.m.
    A parking area will be designated at the cemetery
    for those wishing to walk the tour.
    Transportation for those unable to walk will be provided.
    Busses will leave the Gouverneur Museum at 1:45 p.m.
    Please call Joe Laurenza to reserve a bus seat 287-3193.
    There is no charge for the hour-long tour,
    however donations will certainly be appreciated.
    Participants will receive a free booklet with information out the tour
    when they return to the Museum for refreshments.
